Janice started teaching her movement method in the late 1990’s

Janice Redman is a dancer and pedagogue based in Helsinki, Finland.
Janice began her dancing career fairly late, at 24. Inspired by great teachers and her love for beauty and movement, she was drawn to what became her profession for three decades. Janice was a member of e.g. Danny Buraczewski Dance Company in New York.
Life - or actually love and the birth of her daughter Sophie - brought Janice to the other side of the world, to Finland. Adjustment to this completely different culture was anything but easy. “What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger”, Janice says today, with a grin.
Yet out of the painful experiences of struggling to find her place in a new environment and of an eventual divorce grew something new and beautiful - Janice’s own exercise method. It was also the disappointment with many of the taught classes Janice attended, as well as her need to find a way to truly connect with the introverted Finns that pushed Janice to concentrate on what she knew best: body and movement.
Ten years later, Janice is still teaching her method to hundreds of committed students. Her classes at Motivus (under the name of Bodylogic) gather men and women of all ages seven days a week. Since 2002, Janice has also trained instructors to add to and continue her work.
“Bodyflow can be done from a physical approach from the strong kinetic sense that the body experiences or from a mental desire to quiet the mind and allow time for the physical. Either method achieves results”, Janice concludes.
