"Bodyflow is an excellent tool for all performing artists"
Raija-Leena Söderholm, 50

After ending her professional dancing career Raija-Leena spent many years looking forward to the perfect exercise method. In addition to a many-sided workout, Raija-Leena yearned for a discipline that would include the esthetic elements of dance. She read and heard a lot of Bodyflow, and finally decided to give it a try. Despite her rather skeptical prejudgment, Raija-Leena found in Bodyflow exactly what she was looking for.

Raija-Leena's youthful appearance does not reveal that she is the mother of two grown-up daughters and leads a successful business career. Bodyflow is her way to exhale and prevent stress. "We all have a need to quiet down the mind, to distance ourselves from the surrounding chaos. To me Bodyflow classes are a way to concentrate on myself for a moment", Raija-Leena says.

The thing about Bodyflow that most amazes Raija-Leena is its suitability to such a variety of target groups. Unlike in ballet for example, practitioners are not forced to find elements in themselves that are not there. A professional dancer and a complete stranger to movement methods can actually follow the same class. "The movements are safe, and they are always done in a careful and controlled manner. Extreme positions are left out." To Raija-Leena the logic and balanced structure of the classes is also very important. Each movement is part of an entity, just as in dance.

Raija-Leena regrets that there was no such movement method available in her youth as a dance student and professional. "Bodyflow should be part of the curriculum of music, dance and acting students – all performing artists could greatly benefit from this method." "
